IATAN is the link for US based travel agencies to the rest of the world and is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the International Air Transport Association. Through IATAN’s relationship with the parent company, the accredited travel agencies become part of the global community of travel agencies, with very little effort at all.
The purpose of Accreditation is to formally recognize travel agents that are authorized to sell and issue international airline tickets.
When becoming an IATAN accredited travel agency like TraVerus Travel, you have opened the door to a world of possibilities.
IATAN provides the agencies with the only personnel registration service in the industry. The computer generated list that is given to endorsed agencies is the primary, or only, record many international airlines will accept before considering granting reduced rate privileges.
Travel Agent ID Card ProgramThe Travel Agent ID Card Program is administered by IATAN. The ID card has become increasingly popular with suppliers and agents alike. It has been stated by some that the significance of this program alone justifies the need for IATAN accreditation for most serious US based travel agencies.
To qualify for this ID Card, you must first earn $5000.00 in travel commissions. As a Certified Travel Agent with TraVerus, the travel commission you earn will be recorded. TraVerus will then automatically apply for your IATA card when you reach this level.
